Update 5/22/2023: Adopted!!
Broward County, FL – At eight years of age, a cat named Nala is learning to live without the love of her family. According to the Humane Society of Broward County, Nala’s family got a new kitten and she did not adjust well to life with another cat.
Rather than figuring out how to fix the problem, Nala’s family surrendered her to the shelter. The agency said:
Sadly, she did not adjust well to a new kitten that was added to her home, so her family decided to give HER away 🥺💔
According to the shelter, Nala is cuddly and adores snuggling on laps. The shelter is hoping to find Nala a home with a devoted, loving new family who does not have other cats.
@humanebroward Replaced by the new kitten 💔 8-year-old Nala is a cuddly and affectionate female cat that is vocal for food and loves getting treats. Sadly, she did not adjust well to a new kitten that was added to her home, so her family decided to give HER away 🥺💔 She is super friendly with people and likes laps and being pet. She will need a patient adopter, preferably with no other cats 🙏 #sadcat #cat #catsoftiktok #catvideo #adoptme #adopt #adoptacat #tigercat #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #florida #rescue

How how sad! Anytime you add a new pet into the family dynamics there is always an adjustment period. You work with them and eventually they all get along. This family should not be allowed to adopt any more pets. They apparently do not have any love or compassion for them. I just hope they don’t have any children that fight.
Damn it! I just can’t imagine giving up any of my pets. ALL of my animals have lived with me until they passed. As much as I would love to adopt every single pet needing a home, I know my limitations and only keep as many as I can care for. My last “3 amigos” recently all passed within 2 years of each other at the ages of 11, 13, and 17. My husband opted to adopt a young stray dog and a kitten to replace 2 of our fur angels, but I wanted an older pet needing a home. I found Toby the cat, whose dad had passed away, and he was stuck in a shelter at age 15. I probably won’t have him for long, but his last few years will be filled with lots of love and cuddles. He’s a huge sweetheart. Pets are forever and not to be given away when you get tired of them.
