Downey, CA – A charming, senior German shepherd finds himself homeless in the twilight of his life. The 10-year-old dog, named Conner, has been at the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Downey facility since May 18, and a shelter volunteer has announced that his “final plea” to leave will be coming soon.
According to Conner’s advocate, he struggles with his back legs and though the shelter is doing its best to keep him comfortable, the conditions are not ideal for a senior dog.
Being held in an animal shelter kennel run is stressful for any dog. It is even worse for a senior dog with arthritis and/or mobility issues. Conner deserves to be spending the remainder of his life in the company of a person, and the comfort of a home. Most of all, he deserves to live out the rest of his life…
Please help Conner by sharing his adoption information. Networking saves lives!

I will donate $100 to get this dog into foster! Will need pictures of proof of new home. Maybe this will help with transport etc!
I have been a foster for gs and golden retrievers. I lived in CA for many years until moving to Florida recently. We’ve had several gs dogs of our own. If someone can get him to us we will take him.
Did you check and if someone would bring him to you. I will chip in some money
I would most definitely foster if I wasn’t in Ohio:(
If someone will foster I will pay for the 2 bags of food. I already have 3 dogs or I would scoop him up!
Worse case scenario,,,,, can’t the staff foster/adopt him???????????…..
there are currently over 470 dogs at this facility – there is simply no way for the staff to save them all 🙁
Why bother commenting if you have nothing helpful to add 🙄
are you replying to me, or to Di? If it’s to me, my response is an explanation as to why the staff can’t save all of the dogs. If there are nearly 500 dogs in need of homes, it’s simply impossible.
