Depressed Senior Cat Returned Third Time To Shelter

Hamilton County, IN – A senior cat, now 11 years of age, finds himself homeless for the third time after being surrendered by an owner whose health is failing. The senior cat, most recently known as Beaux, is at the Humane Society for Hamilton County – the same place that he was first adopted from when he was just a kitten.

The shelter writes:

I started out at HSHC as a little kitten back in 2012. You can see my baby picture below! Boy, was I cute or what? Hi, I’m Beaux and being back at the shelter has me feeling sad.
I got adopted, but in 2021, I was a stray cat again. I got adopted, but the pets in the home rejected me, so I went back to HSHC. I got adopted again in 2022, but due to my owner’s failing health, I was surrendered. I have had at least three names, Leaf, Leo, and Beaux.

Beaux is depressed after losing his person, and his home, and he is not enjoying life in the shelter. For a short time, Beaux was at a foster home, but he does not like other cats and had to leave.

The animal welfare agency said, “I am considered a very handsome DLH Tabby cat with a calm, peaceful personality. I have lived successfully with dogs and kids–cats are the exception!”

Please help Beaux find a new home (with no other cats) where he can spend the remainder of his life. Networking his story will help it reach more people!

  1. I would take him and just allow him his space from the others, but we took one 2 months ago with the same problem.. can’t get along with the others and was treated badly. so we are still working with her keeping her separate and moving her around.. I wish I had more spare rooms.

  2. Please someone out there, have a heart and adopt this beautiful cat. I live in Germany, and I do have cats. There must be somebody who is willing to save his life❣️ ❤️

  3. This shelter is not doing a good job vetting the right adopters for this cat – this poor senior guy deserves MUCH, MUCH better inhis golden years.

  4. Please someone with cat ownership experience give this cat a permanent home. It is a shame that this cat has been surrendered again. We are cat lovers and have adopted many cats like this over the years in this situation but unfortunately we live in Canada so we can only hope that someone from the local community down there will step up and give this little guy a furrever home. C,mon guys show a little compassion here.
