Immokalee, FL – Two weeks ago, a neglected dog was rescued from a flooded plywood doghouse and his owner was arrested and taken to jail. A good Samaritan is responsible for the rescue of Robo, a young bull terrier, who was tethered to the dilapidated structure.
As reported by NBC 2 News, it was pouring rain when deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s office responded to the home of 43-year-old Romeo Gabriel-Lopez. Robo was inside the doghouse, which had upwards of two feet of water inside.
Gabriel-Lopez surrendered Robo and the man is now facing animal cruelty charges.
Robo is now in need of a new home. The dog is with SNIP Collier, which writes:

I thank the people that did the right thing for this dog!! THAT dog should never have been outside in the first place with all the rain coming in!! Robo is in need of a great home after all he has gone through!! This IDIOT should never had the dog!! The dog was in danger of drowning and did this man care enough to go and get him out of the rain, NO!! This so-called person is as brainless as a fish!!! He should carry the burden of at least $100,000 fine, serve at least 5 yrs to be served every day in prison, and not be allowed to come in contact in any way with another animal and never to have or own an animal!!!!
